The Garden of Dreams Inspire Scholarship Program annually awards 15 high school seniors $15,000 per year, renewable for up to 4 years, for a total of $60,000 toward each recipient’s education at the college or trade school of their choice. Since 2015, Garden of Dreams has committed $5.8 million in scholarships to 115 students.
On June 20th, 2023, Garden of Dreams hosted an Inspire Scholarship Summer Event at SPIN New York to celebrate our college graduates and welcome our new class of Inspire Scholars. This year, we were excited to welcome 15 new scholars into the program, who will receive $15,000 per year for up to 4 years at the college of their choice!
Upon arrival, the scholars were welcomed by our host, Jason Negron, and given the opportunity to catch up, mingle, enjoy delicious food and refreshments, and play a few rounds of ping pong. Following these activities, we congratulated our 2023 college graduates and surprised them each with their own pair of AirPods.
Class of 2023 Inspire Scholar, Tyrese Avery, gave a thoughtful speech that inspired all of the scholars in the room and was met with laughter and applause. Then, Tyrese introduced the new class of Inspire Scholarship recipients, and presented them with another exciting surprise.
Each new Inspire Scholar was handed a gift bag that included their school’s t-shirt, as well as a brand new MacBook laptop! The scholars’ reactions to receiving these gifts were priceless – and the pictures from the night show it! The scholars joined together for a group picture holding their new laptops and wearing their school shirts proudly.
