On January 30th, the New York Rangers hosted their annual “Casino Night,” the team’s largest fundraising event of the year benefiting Garden of Dreams foundation.
This year’s event was outfitted with the beloved traditional programming such as mixing and mingling with current players, casino games, and a VIP reception, as well as some new twists – including an immersive photo booth presented by Verizon, and a special polaroid booth for our VIP ticket holders!
These incredible contributions, along with all other proceeds from the evening, will go directly to the Garden of Dreams Foundation to support our work bringing life-changing opportunities to deserving young people.
In fact, two of those young people and their families were present at Casino Night themselves – Guy, a Garden of Dreams Talent Show alumni from Make-A-Wish New Jersey, astounded the crowd with his performance of “I’m Still Standing” by Elton John, and Liam a longtime member of the Garden of Dreams that came to us through our “Dream Day” in 2010. Liam spoke about the life lasting impact the foundation has had on his life. Through the Garden of Dreams, he was able to appear on televisions/radio shows, make lifelong friendships and was a 2019 Inspire Scholarship recipient. Liam is now a video scout for Team USA’s 4 nation and Olympic staff.
The lasting joy and hope that Garden of Dreams brings to these families was felt by every person in the room, and their incredible generosity helps ensure that this Foundation can continue the meaningful work for many more children and their families in the future.
